Fees and Payment Information
Dr. Ward is a private-pay provider. Fees are based on the type and duration of service and reflect the time, training, and care involved in each appointment. All fees are discussed clearly before scheduling, and a complimentary 15 minute consultation is available to determine whether services are a good fit.
Therapy Services
Therapy focuses on emotional insight, practical strategies, and collaborative treatment planning.
Individual therapy (50 minutes): $225
Couples or family therapy (50 minutes): $275
Psychological Evaluations
Psychological evaluations include interviews, testing, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and a feedback session. Fees vary depending on the type of assessment, the number of testing hours, and the individual needs of each client.
Evaluation services include, but are not limited to:
ADHD and diagnostic evaluations
Autism and neurodevelopmental evaluations
Comprehensive adult psychological evaluations
Clients receive a detailed estimate and an explanation of the evaluation process before scheduling. You are welcome to contact Dr. Ward directly to discuss your evaluation needs and to receive individualized fee information.
Insurance
Dr. Ward is currently an out of network provider and does not bill insurance directly. Clients may request a detailed superbill to submit to their insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan and should be confirmed directly with the insurer.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise specified. Accepted payment methods include credit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards.
Clients receive information about all fees and billing practices prior to beginning services, consistent with California law and the APA Ethics Code.
Cancellation Policy
The cancellation policy is intended to support the responsible use of clinical time and maintain availability for clients who need appointments.
Therapy appointments canceled with fewer than 24 hours notice: charged one third of the session cost.
Therapy appointments canceled less than 2 hours before the appointment or missed without notice: billed at the full session rate.
Psychological evaluation appointments require 48 hours notice due to the extended time reserved for testing.
Evaluation cancellations within the 48 hour window: charged one third of the evaluation fee.
Evaluation appointments canceled less than 2 hours before the appointment or missed without notice: billed at the full evaluation rate.
Exceptions may be made in cases of illness, emergencies, or situations protected under California law. Clients are encouraged to discuss any concerns about the cancellation policy.
Sliding Scale
A limited number of sliding scale appointments are available based on financial need. Availability varies and can be discussed during the consultation call. Adjusted rates are determined collaboratively and documented in the client’s financial agreement.
Good Faith Estimate Notice

Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) showing the expected cost of your mental health services, including therapy and psychological evaluations. You may request a GFE at any time prior to your first appointment. If your treatment plan changes, you may ask for an updated estimate.
Federal law also requires providers to inform you that if your final bill is $400 or more above the Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the charge through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services within 120 days.
