Child Evaluations

Dr. Ward provides comprehensive, evidence-based evaluations for children and adolescents to help families better understand their child’s unique strengths and areas of need. These assessments are designed to clarify diagnosis and guide meaningful next steps for growth, support, and intervention.

Evaluations may include testing for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning differences, or other developmental and behavioral concerns. Each assessment is tailored to the child’s age, abilities, and presenting concerns, ensuring a thoughtful and individualized process.

Using a combination of standardized testing, behavioral observations, and detailed parent and teacher input, Dr. Ward develops a holistic picture of each child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and adaptive functioning. The goal is not only to provide diagnostic clarity but also to help families understand how their child learns, interacts, and processes the world around them.

Following the evaluation, families receive a comprehensive written report and a personalized feedback session. During this meeting, Dr. Ward explains the results in clear, accessible language and collaborates with parents to create a practical plan for ongoing support, whether that involves school accommodations, behavioral strategies at home, or coordination with other providers and therapists.

Each evaluation is approached with care, respect, and a commitment to helping children thrive across home, school, and community settings. All evaluations are conducted in accordance with professional standards established by the American Psychological Association and the California Board of Psychology.

With a background in both clinical psychology and public safety, he offers a comprehensive understanding of how stress, leadership, and workplace culture influence mental health and performance.
